  2. New all-time lows on Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ tablets are headlining Thursday’s best deals. The savings start at $469 and come joined by Google’s latest battery-powered Nest Video Doorbell at $130. Plus, our favorite pair of budget-friendly earbuds in 2023 – Anker’s Liberty 4 NC Earbuds – are now down to one of the best prices ever at $75. Hit the jump for all that and more in the latest 9to5Toys Lunch Break. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ tablets drop to new Amazon lows Amazon is now offering the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ for $469. This drops the 128GB Wi-Fi model from its usual $600 going rate down to a new all-time low. It’s a total of $131 off and an extra $52 under our previous mention from earlier in the year. Today’s offer is also the first time it has dropped under $500. The savings continue over to the 256GB model at $569, down from $700 and marking its own new all-time low. Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ is its latest Android tablet that comes powered by an Exynos 1380 chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard SSD storage. That is packed into a 12.4-inch display that also works with a companion S Pen stylus. Our hands-on report from over at 9to5Google breaks down what to expect from the experience, too. SOURCE
  3. As promised, Galaxy AI and all its features are trickling down to Samsung's 2023 flagships - the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold5, and Z Flip5. The firmware requires a download of around 3GBand is live in North America, Europe, India and possibly just about every other part of the world as well. The changelog of the firmware is a few pages long but it's highlighted by Galaxy AI. That means the 2023 phones are getting Circle to Search with Google, live call and conversation translation, translation in text, pictures, signs, and documents, text summarization, voice recording transcription, as well as generative AI for images, and wallpaper generation. There are also a lot of usability improvements, new battery longevity features, and security options. In its newsroom post, Samsung revealed that the One UI 6.1 update, the first major update to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 that was released in October 2023, will begin rolling out across the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US starting March 28. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will also get the update beginning this week. Most users are expected to begin receiving the update in April. While the company did not mention a global rollout, it is expected to be available in all regions next month. SOURCE
  4. It’s a picture frame! It’s a speaker! No, it’s… a speaker frame. Since Samsung first showed off its new Music Frame at CES, we’ve been jonesing to spend time in front of it to see whether it will knock our socks off or offer a gentle kiss of sound on the cheek. After checking out Samsung’s latest TVs, we were granted a short audience in front of two of these square 13-inch frames sporting surprisingly strong speaker systems in the back. While we were certainly impressed by its sound volume and quality, it’s clear that the $399 Music Frame is just the first iteration of what will hopefully become a more fleshed-out product, given time. If your first thought was this is a smart frame that can show pictures from your phone gallery and blast beets from your favorite Spotify playlist, get that idea out of your head. This analog picture frame is attached to a speaker that can link to Samsung’s or other brands’ smart home systems. You can preorder the Music Frame now, but you should understand exactly what you’re getting before you jump for it. If you want a plus-sized smart frame from Samsung, the company already has you covered with the 2024 refresh of The Frame TV. What is Samsung’s Music Frame? The Music Frame is a speaker disguised as an old-school picture frame. You put your favorite artwork or photo behind the front panel, then connect it to your TV or phone to start listening. Even though it connects over Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi, you’ll need to use Samsung’s own IoT brand SmartThings connection and Q Symphony to access the full Dolby Atmos quality. It also requires a wired power connection, so unless you can hide the cord, you won’t be tricking anybody into hearing the spooky sound coming from the walls. The cable is white by default, so at least it won’t look too odd snaking down from your bookshelf, so long as you don’t want to go about drilling holes in your wall to conceal any unsightly cables. Still, the Frame bears some of Samsung’s best highlights from its QLED lineup and a matte display that didn’t show much glare from surrounding lights. We spent even less time with the Frame compared to the Music Frame, but this TV refresh is still a more fleshed-out product overall than the speaker, with the choice of different color bezels and sizes. It’s an example of where the Music Frame could eventually go. SOURCE
  5. Geekbench listings already told us most of what we needed to know about the Samsung Galaxy A55's Exynos 1480 SoC. For reasons unknown, Samsung didn't mention it in any capacity when it launched the smartphone earlier this month. The company finally has a dedicated page for the Exynos 1480, complete with a spec sheet. Its CPU has 4x Arm Cortex A78 cores (2.75 GHz) and four Cortex A55 cores (2.0 GHz). An RDNA 3-based Xclipse GPU handles graphics. The Exynos 1480 has on-device AI support. Samsung says it uses an "AI Engine with 6K MAC NPU", which appears to be a cut-down version of the Exynos 2400's "AI Engine with 17K MAC NPU(2-GNPU+2-SNPU". In theory, the Galaxy A55 could support the Galaxy S24 ($804 on Amazon) series' Galaxy AI features. However, the official One UI 6.1 roadmap doesn't mention the Galaxy A55, so there's no telling if it will get the update. Wireless connectivity options on the Exynos 1480 include Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, sub-6 GHz 5G, mmWave 5G, and cat.18 LTE. It can power an FHD+ display at 144 Hz, a single 200 MP camera sensor (64 MP at 30 FPS, 32 MP + 32 MP at 20 FPS), and encode/decode 4K 60 FPS H.264 videos. Memory/storage support is limited to LPDDR5/UFS 3.1, which is all right for mid-rangers. Lastly, it is manufactured on a "4 nm" node, presumably Samsung's in-house 4LPP+. SOURCE
SURSA
