L'actuelle BMW S1000RR

Launched like a bomb on the hypersportive segment in 2009, the BMW S1000RR quickly imposed its trademark against its rivals Italian and Japanese. With his sharp lines and his asymmetrical look first, then with the expression of his raging engine.

But the competition has made major changes in recent years, the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and Honda Fireblade being the latest examples, while Ducati is preparing its offensive with its V4. The Bavarian manufacturer had therefore to react. And this is what is happening with a machine in full development.

Aesthetically, the S1000 looks smaller than its predecessor and, with its new fairing, abandons especially its asymmetrical lights for lenticular optics that recall the electric Energica EGO. The back loop shows a tubular mesh. Finally, the rear-view mirrors now incorporate the turn signals.

But the beast should also strongly evolve at the level of the engine and the cycle part as the new crankcase, the muffler totally revised or the reinforced swing arm suggest.
