Short Description:
Shift is the second book in the Silo series and serves as a prequel to Wool. The novel reveals the hidden origins of the silos and explains how humanity ended up living underground. The story follows several characters, including Donald, a politician who becomes involved in a secret government project designed to preserve human life after a global catastrophe. As the truth behind the project slowly unfolds, the reader discovers the disturbing decisions, sacrifices, and secrets that shaped the world seen in the first book.

Personal Review:
This book adds a lot of depth to the story introduced in Wool. It focuses more on the history and the political decisions that led to the creation of the silos. At times the story jumps between different timelines, which can make it slightly complex, but it also makes the plot more intriguing. Shift answers many questions from the first book and makes the reader think about power, responsibility, and the consequences of human decisions. Overall, it is an interesting and important continuation of the series.
