  11. Eden Hazard is ready to hand in a transfer request in order to force a move to Real Madrid. The Chelsea talisman is understood to be frustrated that there has not been any significant progress in his potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Marina Granovskaia, director of the Stamford Bridge club, remains hopeful of keeping the Belgian international and is asking for £98million according to AS.
  12. Mauricio Pochettino has made the stunning claim on the eve of Tottenham’s Champions League semi-final second leg at Ajax that he would consider leaving Tottenham if they went on to win the competition. Spurs is most important match in Ajax stadium’s history, says Erik ten Hag
  13. Down 3-0 after the first leg at the Camp Nou, Liverpool did the unthinkable at Anfield, turning around the tie with four answered goals in one of the greatest comebacks the Champions League has ever seen. With a three-goal deficit and without two of their famed front three in Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino (both injured), Liverpool got two goals apiece from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum to shock Lionel Messi and Barcelona 4-0 and reach the Champions League final. Here's how social media reacted to the latest -- and maybe most improbable -- in a long line of magical European nights at Anfield... View image on Twitter
  14. The 24-year-old apparently failed to come off the bench to replace Lucas Biglia in the first half amid an altercation with his manager Tiemoue Bakayoko was spotted apparently telling AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso to "f*ck off" as he took too long to come off the bench in Monday's clash with Bologna. The midfielder, on loan at Milan from Chelsea, was dropped to the bench for the Serie A clash at San Siro but was called on by Gattuso to replace Lucas Biglia, who went off midway through the first half. When the coach went to ask the France international to replace him, Bakayoko did not seem to be ready immediately. The 41-year-old had a brief discussion with Bakayoko, which ended with the latter telling the ex-Milan and Rangersstar to "f*ck off".
  15. Real Madrid, who are also after Neymar, could present an offer for Kylian Mbappe which would be practically impossible for PSG to turn down. According to 'France Football', Zidane wants the forward to join the club next as he feels the deals for Hazard and Pogba are essentially done. The offer is said to be €280m and would smash the world transfer record, topping the €222m PSG themselves paid Barça for Neymar in 2017. However it appears PSG won't sell their star man for any price. The club want Mbappe to be the face of this squad but selling him would allow them to remove the shadow of FFP hanging over their head.
  16. Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been named Premier League Player of the Month for April. The 32-year-old claimed five goals in four games for Brendan Rodgers' side, including a brace during the Foxes' 3-0 win over Arsenal. Vardy scored in all but one of his appearances in April, which was enough to see off other contenders Eden Hazard of Chelsea, Man City's Aymeric Laporte, as well as Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah. Burnley's Chris Wood, Southampton's Shane Long and Ayoze Perez of Newcastle United made up the eight man shortlist. This is the third time that Vardy has won the award, but his first since winning consecutive awards in October and November in 2015, the year Leicester won the title.
  17. Arsenal will have to win the Europa League if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League. The honest truth is that this has been the case for a little while now, but that statement has been recast as cold fact in the wake of this dispiriting draw at home to a Brighton side that had nothing but pride on their agenda.
  18. Mohamed Salah has undergone tests to determine if he suffered concussion during the victory over Newcastle at the weekend. The Liverpool star is a doubt for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona on Tuesday, as the club awaits the results of the tests. Salah collided with Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka during the game and was stretchered off the pitch after receiving treatment. Dubravka revealed he thought Salah might have been unconscious for several seconds because he did not answer Fabian Schar when the Newcastle defender checked to see if he was okay. ‘I don’t know if he was out for five or six seconds. Fabian asked him if he was all right and he didn’t answer him, so in that moment we were a little bit scared if he was OK,’ said Dubravka.
  19. The midfielder is determined to win the Champions League and believes the French club can claim the crown, suggesting he would be open to a move Miralem Pjanic says his future at Juventus is still to be decided and suggested he would be open to joining Paris Saint-Germain. The 29-year-old midfielder has played a key role for the Bianconeri this season, scoring four times in 42 appearances for the Serie A champions. He still has four years left on his contract, having signed a new deal last August, but there have been reports PSG and Real Madrid are eyeing a summer bid for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international.
  20. Dries Mertens on Sunday overtook club legend Diego Maradona in Napoli's all-time Serie A scorers list after bagging his 82st goal in a 2-1 win over Cagliari which sealed second place in this season. The Belgian striker headed in the equaliser after 85 minutes in Naples to surpass former Argentinian ace Maradona, who hit 81 league goals between 1984 and 1991. Mertens is now the third best Serie A scorer in the club's history, behind Antonio Vojak, who hit a record 102 league goals between 1929 and 1935 and Slovakian Marek Hamsik, who achieved 100 before leaving to play in China this season. "I'm very happy to have overtaken Maradona and to be a part of Napoli's history," said Mertens, 31, who arrived in southern Italy in 2013 from PSV Eindhoven.
  21. Huesca also saw their relegation confirmed on Sunday as they capitulated 6-2 at home to Valencia. The game was over by halftime as Valencia led 5-0 with a goal from Daniel Wass after two minutes. Rodrigo Moreno scored in the 16th minute and Santi Mina netted after 20 and 32 minutes before Xabi Etxeita scored an own goal. Rodrigo scored his second of the night seven minutes after halftime before Gonzalo Melero scored a 66th minute consolation for the home side and Alexandre Gallar netted a 92nd minute penalty.
  22. Against an already relegated Huddersfield, United staggered to a 1-1 draw which terminated the hopes of the most successful team in English Premier League history of qualifying for next season's lucrative Champions League.
