Apple iPhone 16 Pro: New Leak Reveals Powerful Design Upgrade Incoming, Report Says

The next iPhones will have a new capture button on the right-hand edge, designed to work with the camera, the report in The Information says.

The same report claims that a foldable iPhone could be with us as soon as 2026—though I’ll tell you now, I think that’s optimistic. The reason for thinking it could be as soon as 2026 is down to something rather mundane: “Apple recently created an internal code name,” The Information says, which is V68.

Such seeming-dull developments are meaningful, however, because it means that within Apple the project is being taken increasingly seriously, suggesting “that the idea has moved beyond the conceptual stage and is now an official product in development with suppliers.”

The mention of the capture button on the iPhone 16 series chimes with previous rumors, as does the claim that replacing the battery in the iPhone 16 will be easier than it is today. All very good, but it’s the next part of the report that offers something properly new.

The iPhone 16 series, that’s all four phones expected this September, will include a “larger graphite sheet within the chassis,” the report says.
