Exotic islands. Hidden treasures. Riddles, battles and shanties. The essential pirate experience.

Sea of Thieves is a new type of multiplayer game that delivers all you need to live the free-roaming pirate life. Whether adventuring as a group or sailing solo, you'll encounter other crews... but will they be friends or foes, and how will you respond?

Sea of Thieves is a historical-fantasy first-person open-world action-adventure game in development by Rare, with a planned release by Microsoft for the Xbox One and PC(digitally via the Microsoft Store) on March 20, 2018.

The game puts players in the role of classic maritime piratesas they form a multiplayer crew (or venture out solo at their own risk) and manually pilot a pirate ship through open waters in search of loot and adventure. Along the way, they can encounter other player ships (using the seamless "shared world" feature) and optionally engage in both maritime and face-to-face combat.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the game received numerous closed beta periods since November 2016 for members of Rare's "Insider Programme" initiative. It supports cross-platform multiplayer between both XB1 and PC versions. No Caption Provided
