Pearl Abyss continues to release new updates for its hit open world title, Crimson Desert, and with Patch 1.11, players have a new challenge system to check out along with a variety of other fixes and major improvements. Despited mixed reviews at launch earlier this year, Crimson Desert has proven to be a gamer with legs as its developer, Pearl Abyss, hasn't been shy about fixing and adding things almost on a weekly basis.

The update cycle for Crimson Desert has impressed its players as Pearl Abyss tends to be reactive and fast in addressing player concerns or fixing areas that may not be hitting as strongly. In fact, this policy was very much intentional as Pearl Abyss revealed why a post-launch roadmap wasn't initially revealed for Crimson Desert, allowing the studio to pivot quickly and release player-first style updates. The plan has been a hit with fans as Crimson Desert has not only added substantial content into the game, it has also addressed a bunch of big concerns such as controls and endgame content. However, with so much already added, Pearl Abyss doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

The latest update for Crimson Desert has arrived, and while it may not be quite as substantial as past patches, it still makes a number of major changes. One of the biggest additions is an expansion of Crimson Desert's pet system, as new challenges have been added to allow players to register more pets. As it stands, players can now register up to 100 pets in game, though only 50 pets can be summoned at camp. Players can complete challenges to earn rewards that help increase the total number of pets that can be registered and better yet, these challenges are retroactive, so if they've already been completed, the rewards will automatically be available.

The Pinball Machine that was adjusted in Crimson Desert in Update 1.10 is also getting a handful of improvements here as well. Specifically, the minigame has had its difficulty lowered slightly, while various issues with the ball could sometimes pass through walls or get stuck have been fixed. The ball was also made slightly heavier and the pins have been adjusted for a better experience overall.

While fans have come to expect consistent updates, Pearl Abyss gave players a more detailed look at what else is coming over the next few months. The Crimson Desert content release schedule for June through September highlighted a number of features that players will be seeing, including an improvement to the game's overall story, the addition of Cross-Save, new combat-oriented content to dig into, as well as continued quality of life improvements. Some of the promised content is starting to make its way into the game with this update as well, which players can see within the full patch notes below.
