A renowned leaker with a proven track record reveals the internal target for the release of both Pokemon Winds and Waves and a 3D Super Mario game in 2027. Pokemon Winds and Waves were officially revealed at the Pokemon Direct on Pokemon Day this year, February 27, and they were confirmed for a 2027 release with no specific window announced. On the other hand, fans were hoping to see a new 3D Super Mario game at some point this year, but nothing was announced.

Still, a 3D Mario game has been leaked multiple times, and it's reportedly launching next year.

Pokemon Winds and Waves launching in 2027 had some fans happy about the prolonged wait after the issues with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's launch, but it was also bad news for others who were eagerly waiting for Gen 10. These games will launch around five years after Gen 9, so the hype is understandably massive. Super Mario fans had it much worse, though, as there has been no new 3D Mario game since Super Mario Odyssey in 2017. The next chapter in the beloved plumber's saga has yet to be announced, but it's refreshing to hear it's coming in 2027.

Leak aggregator Centro Leaks shared a post on Twitter stating that Pokemon Winds and Waves are planned for a September 2027 release, with a new 3D Super Mario game planned for November 2027. The leak comes from a reputable and yet anonymous source, Billy, who has leaked the entire list of games and reveals for Pokemon Day 2026, among other things. The information is in line with a previous leak that said Pokemon Winds and Waves would launch in late 2027. It also makes sense that Pokemon would launch in September, possibly followed up by a DLC in December, with November dedicated to the next Mario game.

Super Mario Odyssey will turn 10 years old next year, and November 2027 seems like the perfect time to launch a new 3D game after all this time. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of Super Mario games, and since the date is September 13, there's a chance that Nintendo will unveil its planned 2027 3D game on that occasion.

Leaks are always to be taken with a pinch of salt, but between Billy's proven track record and the fact that these release months for Pokemon and Mario would make perfect sense, it's hard to argue against the information. Things may change further down the line, though, and it may be three months or more before the next Mario game is revealed.
