Pocketpair unveiled an extensive list of changes made for Palworld 1.0, which is now available on all supported platforms. The arrival of Palworld 1.0 came after the open-world crafting game spent two years in early access and took the world by storm.

Throughout Palworld's early access window, Pocketpair added various pieces of content to flesh out the open world.

Along the way, Palworld collaborated with the popular indie games Terraria and ULTRAKILL to bring new weapons, armor, and bosses. With Palworld's 1.0 launch, Pocketpair encouraged Palworld players to consider starting over from scratch. However, this measure is not mandatory, as Palworld players can still start up their early access save files to see some of the late-game changes firsthand. Given that Palworld stated its 1.0 patch notes initially took 27 PDF pages, the final list of changes is quite a lengthy read. According to the official Palworld 1.0 patch notes, Pocketpair made several changes to the game's systems. Along with the addition of 72 new Pals, Palworld 1.0 also added two new major zones called Sunreach and the World Tree.

Sunreach is a group of floating islands located east of Feybreak Island, with plenty of Pals and crafting materials to discover. After defeating the eight tower bosses scattered throughout Palworld's Palpagos Islands, players can access the mysterious World Tree that has been teased since the game's early access period. The missions and story flow of Palworld 1.0 were overhauled following early access, with each tower boss receiving updated arenas, animations, and a shortened battle time limit from 10 minutes down to just five minutes.

Palworld 1.0 also introduced the Awakening and Mutation systems, which give players more ways to customize their Pals. Additionally, Lovander was changed from a Normal-type Pal to a Dark-type, while Pals such as Verdash, Robinquill, and Fenglope received updated character designs. Several Pal Partner Skills and Passive Skills were reworked. The player level cap has also increased from 65 to 80, with new items to spend Technology Points and Ancient Technology Points on. Palworld players can earn

Ancient Technology Points by defeating world boss Pals and tower bosses, while standard Technology Points can be gained by leveling up or by spending Successful Bounty Tokens. In light of the changes, Pocketpair reassured players by stating Palworld would keep its standard price at $29.99. However, players interested in playing Palworld on Steam have until July 23 to purchase the game at a 30% discount price of $20.99. With Palworld's 1.0 launch now in full swing, it remains to be seen how many players will return to the Palpagos Islands to see what has changed.
