New Metal Gear Solid Release Officially Confirmed for October

Metal Gear Solid is getting its own line of accessories and toys for cats, and the collection is arriving in October. Fans of Metal Gear Solid won't have long to acquire the collection, so they should prep in advance to pounce on the new offering.

Metal Gear Solid has been back in the limelight in recent months in anticipation of the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. The follow-up to 2023's Volume 1 will see the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the

Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, plus Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, which originally came out back in 2000. While most of the collection will be limited to CatCon, those who can't attend aren't entirely out of luck.

 

The cat scratchers based on Metal Gear Solid will be sold online via OKS GEAR across the same two days. However, those who are hoping to secure one will likely want to look as early as possible on October 10. Limited items like these, especially when connected to video games, tend to be in high demand and are often scooped up by ardent fans and scalpers alike, with only expensive listings on reseller sites left available after they're sold out. This new cat collection is also part of the promotional effort for the upcoming Konami release, with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 launching on August 27. 

 

However, there has also been some trepidation expressed by some fans in the lead-up to Volume 2's release. While Volume 1 contained popular Metal Gear classics, it also shipped with some significant issues, including cutscenes lagging, typos, mistimed subtitles, and a lack of display settings on PC. While not completely game-breaking, these problems disappointed some players at the time. However, the developers have reassured fans that they're aware that Volume 1 could have been in better shape when it arrived, and are striving to prevent similar issues with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
