  2. Another fight, another win for Shinard Bunch. The hard-hitting Bunch won a hard-fought unanimous decision over gatekeeper Cameron Krael Saturday night at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, Pennsylvania. Scores were 79-73, 78-74, and 77-75 for Bunch, who improves to 14-1 1 NC, 12 knockouts. Saturday night marked the fourth fight of this year for Bunch, who resides in Trenton, New Jersey. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 21-year-old was able to fight five times in 2020. Krael was a significant step-up in opposition for Bunch. Despite being knocked out by unbeaten prospect Elvis Rodriguez on October 9, the 27-year-old has faced several contenders and prospects with mixed results, including recent victories over Jose Miguel Borrego and Maurice Lee. From the opening bell, Bunch, who fought as a junior welterweight after fighting at 147 pounds over his last several fights, was assertive, taking initiative and looking to put Kreal on the defensive. Kreal was able to work from distance behind a consistent jab in an attempt to counter Kreal. There was a good ebb and flow between the two fighters throughout the bout. Bunch was busier and connected more with his punches. While some rounds were close, Bunch seemed to accumulate points during the second half of the fight. Bunch could return to the ring next month on a fight card in Vero Beach, Florida. Kreal, who resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, drops to 17-18-3, 4 KOs. He has lost five of his last six bouts. Lightweight Nahir Albright notched another victory by stopping William Parra Smith of Anchorage, Alaska. Albright, who resides in nearby Sicklerville, New Jersey, dropped Parra in round 2. After Parra beat the count, Albright went on the attack, throwing and landing a barrage of punches that promoted referee Eric Dali to stop the bout at 1:51. In junior lightweight action, Rashiem Jefferson (5-0, 1 KO) of Philadelphia stopped Darel Harris at 1:56 of round 2. Harris, who resides in Sarasota, Florida, drops to 3-20-2, 1 KO. Bantamweight Edgar Joe Cortes improved to 7-6-1, 1 KO by stopping Michael Stoute (3-3-1) of Long Island, New York in round 5. Cortes, who resides in Millville, New Jersey, dropped Stoute twice in the round before referee Eric Dali stopped the bout at 1:21. Junior lightweight Nasir Mickens of Philadelphia dropped Nathan Benichou (2-3, 2 KOs) once en route to a unanimous decision victory. Scores 38-36, 39-35, and 37-36 for Mickens, who improves to 2-0, 1 KO. Benichou was deducted two points during the fight due to spitting out his mouthpiece. RDR Promotions promoted Saturday’s card. Their next promotion will take place on April 3 at the same venue. Francisco A. 3. Today Ubisoft has released their new online mode for Watch Dogs: Legion. The mode is free and is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia. The mode will also soon be released on PC and Ubisoft+, through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store. In this new online mode, up to four players are able to team up and freely explore an open world based off of London. Players are able to work together in order to complete a variety of events, challenges, and side activities across the city. New co-op missions have also been added to the game that will make use of new co-op game mechanics. Those more used to fighting their friends, rather than helping them, are able to do so in the new PvP mode, Spiderbot Arena. In this mode, up to four players compete in a free-for-all deathmatch using the titular spiderbots. Owners of the season pass are also now able to access two new single-player missions. The first of these new missions, Guardian Protocol, has players track down and stop an AI algorithm that would give weaponized drones the power over life and death. In the second mission, Not In Our Name, has players track down a secret group using the DedSec name while stealing information in order to blackmail their victims. The new online mode for Watch Dogs: Legion is now available for free on consoles, PC, and Stadia. The first four-player tactical mission, Leader of the Pack, will also be released soon on March 23. 4. Selena Gomez wants to focus on her acting. The "Baila Conmigo" singer, 28, opened up about her lengthy career on both TV and in music for Vogue's April cover story — and revealed that she wants to lean into acting and producing more so than music in the future. "It's hard to keep doing music when people don't necessarily take you seriously," she told the magazine candidly. "I've had moments where I've been like, 'What's the point? Why do I keep doing this?' 'Lose You to Love Me' I felt was the best song I've ever released, and for some people, it still wasn't enough." "I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I'm so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it'll be different," she added. "I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music." Selena Gomez Debuts New Spanish-Language Single 'De Una Vez' with Magical Music Video Gomez — who is currently working on Hulu series Only Murders in the Building — later clarified saying, "I need to be careful" as she explained that she wanted to spend more time producing (as she did with 13 Reasons Why) and "give myself a real shot at acting." It's not a difficult ask for a star who's done it all, even if this moment in time is just the beginning for her. "I haven't even touched the surface of what I want to do," she said. "The parts that I want are the ones I need help with. I can't wait for the moment when a director can see that I'm capable of doing something that no one's ever seen." Steve Martin, her costar in Only Murders, praised Gomez's acting, saying she became such an asset for the show. "You get a list of names, you know, you're thinking, Sure, they'd be good, they'd be good, and then they say, 'What about Selena Gomez?' and it's just—yes, of course," he told the magazine. "There was no question except 'Can we get her?' We knew she would enhance the show in so many ways, the number one being talent." "Her performance is rich and adult," he added. "She's learned to underplay when necessary. Marty and I are pretty manic, and she's this solid, solid rock foundation. She's nicely, intensely low-key... She's just working. And Marty and I joke around constantly, and we weren't sure if she'd be game for it. But now we think of ourselves as the Three Musketeers." In the interview, Gomez also spoke about why she decided to release a Spanish EP with Revelación, which will be out Friday. "The project is really an homage to my heritage," she said. "A lot of my fan base is Latin, and I've been telling them this album was going to happen for years. But the fact that it's coming out during this specific time is really cool." "It's easier for me to sing in Spanish than to speak it," she added elsewhere. Source
  5. A few changes to the Pre-90 Sports and GTs and Pre-80s Saloons’ rules should have helped shake things up, but little could stop Willie Hepburn this weekend, while a new class added a new element to the Charlies SUPERSPAR Pursuit series, where Wynand du Plessis Sr emerged on top. Hepburn made his intentions clear by qualifying for the Pre-90 Class A Amtec Opel Rekord V8 he had raced himself in period 35 years ago, four and a half seconds quicker than Gqeberha visitor Rudolf de Vos’s spectacular Pre-80 Class B Basil van Rooyen replica “Little Chevy Can Am and Richard de Roos” Porsche 911 RSR, at the head of a healthy 33-car grid. Willie Hepburn. Hepburn duly scampered off to take a dominant 35 second victory over De Vos, who had to work for second from Stefan Snyders’ Class A Steton Porsche 911 RSR, with André van der Merwe’s similar Evapco car next up, but the results behind them were a little shaken up following a first lap mix-up. Pre-80 Saloons Class C winner Deon van Vuuren’s Hoosier Class C Mazda R 100 was next up, benefiting class rival Johann Smith spinning his Mazda Capella rotary in that incident. George Avvakoumides was sixth in his Liqui Moly A Porsche RSR, as he kept Class D winner Alan Green’s wheel-waving Ford Escort at bay. Richard de Roos was next up after being delayed in that first lap confusion, ahead of André ten Napel’s Class D TNMC Scirocco. Jan Jacobs. Smith recovered to tenth ahead of Class E winner Neil Lobb’s Fiat 131, Peter Bailey’s A Porsche and Class D runners, René van Rensburg’s Ford Escort and Stuart Konig’s Scirocco. All of them were compromised by that first lap melee. Riaan and Jaco Roux’s Class E Addfin Sciroccos were next up from Class F winner Sean Hepburn’s Hi-Q Midrand Datsun 1200 Deluxe, Class D runner Johann Barnard’s Fuchs Ford Capri and Stefan Puschavez’ A Porsche. Jan Jacobs’ Class G winning Olifantsfontein Alfa Sprint kept Steve Pickering’s Class A Porsche 916 at bay, while Class F runners Mike MacGregor and Cor Kraamwinkel’s BMW 2002s and Ian Kilburn’s E Datsun GX Coupe all found trouble en route. Sean Hepburn. Without the chaos of a first lap incident, Hepburn then blasted to an 11-second win over Snyders, Van der Merwe and Bailey in heat 2 after De Vos’ Can Am shed a wheel and retired. Class D top two Konig and Green were next up ahead of Class C man Van Vuuren, De Roos’ delayed Porsche and third D man Ten Napel. Class E winner Tony Lundin’s Silver Guard Datsun 1200 GX was tenth from rival Riaan Roux in a Scirocco, with Johann Smith’s C Mazda and Puschavez’s Porsche between them and F winner Sean Hepburn as Jacobs made it a Class H double, too. So Willie Hepburn took the day and Class A overall, De Vos took Class B, Deon van Vuuren C, Green D, Riaan Roux E, Sean Hepburn F, Jacobs G and Thompson Class H. Rules changes now see the Sports and GTs scoring Class A Pre-80 points on a handicap basis, which means that the Class A Overall Champion is likely to be a Sports and GT driver. Also new for 2021, a brand-new Modified Fines class for tweaked street cars joins the Charlies SuperSpar HRSA Pursuit handicap championship, which also enjoyed two cracking heats on the day. 2020 racecar Trophy Class champion Werner Hartzenberg and his 1973 Porsche 916 wasted little time in stamping authority on his new domain by defeating new Modified Fines rivals, Wynand du Plessis Sr’s 1990 Porsche 944 S2, Mike Thompson’s Ford Capri and Willem van Niekerk in a Marauder in race 1. Standard street car Fines Class champion Rob Clark continued where he left off with a class win aboard his fifth placed Citroen GS 1220 Club, ahead of race car Trophy top two, Riaan Roux’s VW Scirocco and Tihan van Rooyen in a Porsche 924. Modified man Henk de Klerk’s Datsun 280ZX was next home ahead of Trophy runner Stan Stacey’s Alfa Romeo GTV 2.5 and Jose Vasques’ Modified Mercedes-Benz W114 in tenth. Behind them followed Richard Tudor-Owen in his Fines Mercedes-Benz 190E, Bert van Aarle’s Fines Mazda MX5, Shane Forget’s Trophy Opel Kadett, which replaced his Toyota SR5 Coupe that blew and engine Friday, and Clive Winterstein’s Modified 1957 Porsche 356 after Modified lass Lauren van Aarle broke out of her handicap bracket by lapping too quickly in her Ford Escort. Rob Clark. Fines ace Bert van Aarle took the second race from Modified quartet Wynand du Plessis Sr, Clive Winterstein, Jose Vasques and Werner Hartzenberg, with Rob Clark sixth from Willem van Niekerk and Fines winner Shane Forget in eighth. Lauren van Aarle was next up from Riaan Roux after Richard Tudor-Owen, Stan Stacey, Mike Thompson, Tihan van Rooyen and Henk de Klerk all broke out. That meant Wynand du Plessis Sr took the day from Werner Hartzenberg, Rob Clark, Willem van Niekerk, Bert van Aarle and Jose Vasques. Clark took the Fines overall win from Bert van Aarle and Richard Tudor-Owen; Du Plessis Sr beat Hartzenberg and Van Niekerk to Modified Fines honours and Riaan Roux took the Trophy first prize ahead of Shane Forget and Tihan van Rooyen. The next round of the Historic Racing South Africa season is at the Phakisa Freeway at Welkom in the Free State on April 10, by when with a little luck, race-starved fans will hopefully be able to spectate again. 6. It was eerily quiet and we woke to dense fog. Creeping out of our tents, we stretched and surveyed the port where we had arrived the previous night. We were at the mouth of the Klamath River to meet Yurok fishers Johnny and Bob Jackson, and their friend James Gist. My two companions and I had spent the last few days with members of the Yurok, California’s largest Native American tribe. We’d been invited to spend time at their traditional White Deerskin Dance – a real honor – having spent a year liaising with tribal elders, and talking about the work we had been doing through the indigenous-led charity If Not Us Then Who? The Yurok have been dispossessed of most of their land, the majority of which is now owned by timber corporations or has been taken by the national parks system. Although their reservation comprises 23,000 hectares (56,000 acres) of contiguous land along the Klamath River, only scattered plots adding up to about 2,000 hectares are under partial tribal ownership. Most Yurok land remains in non-Native American hands under the auspices of forest management, which has disempowered the Yurok people and disrupted their ability to access natural resources and land. Back at the port, we headed out with the Jackson brothers and James in their small boat to fish the southern shore at the mouth of the Klamath for salmon. This narrow channel where the Pacific and the river meet is where the Yurok cast their traditional nets from the shores. The competition for space between the sports fishers, tourists, and the Yurok is revealing to watch and, as the sports fishers raised their rods and the Yurok dragged their nets, it had the feeling of a strange ballet, a dance for space and right of way. A few hours later, we headed back to the port and the connected campground, where some of the Yurok families live – the proximity to work, fishing, and the small town being the draw. Life and circumstances have changed immeasurably, but this remains their home. Walking from the boat, I was intrigued by a group of kids who appeared exhausted from either helping their parents fish or returning from their own mini fishing adventures. In the thin light of a mid-morning sun that had broken through the fog, a bunch of them were gathered outside one RV. I shot different scenes and they soon forgot about me and carried on doing their own thing. The RV framed the kids, the belongings and the outside furniture. I shot a number of frames, just waiting to see what positions, what space they took up in my frame, not wanting to capture anything too contrived. We hung around for a while longer chatting before heading off for food – fishing’s hungry work, you know. Just ask the kids. • Joel Redman is an award-winning photographer based in London. 7. Paintings are a medium to express feelings. A painter is like a filter to all the unordered, random thoughts that come up in his head. Once the filtration is done, the final product is something that can be a masterpiece. Today we have brought you the 15 most expensive paintings in the world. Sit tight and take a look at the most pleasing piece of art forms. 1. Salvator Mundi Price: $450.3 million Artist: Leonardo da Vinci The painting is by the legendary painter of the world-famous painting Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci. Jesus Christ dressed in Renaissance garb and bestowing a blessing with his right hand raised and two fingers crossed can be seen. Salvator Mundi, which literally means “Saviour of the World,” was painted near about in the 1500s was often put under the radar for its authenticity. The piece was bought by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Badr Bin Abdullah Al Saud. It is rumored that the painting is put up on the Saudi prince’s yacht and is reserved for display at Saudi’s very own cultural center in Al Ula. 2. Interchange Price: $300 million Artist: Willem de Kooning Interchange is an oil painting painted on canvas by Dutch-American abstract painter Willem de Kooning. 8. MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico announced a huge bet on Chinese vaccines Tuesday, without making public any information about their efficacy. Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said the Mexican government has signed agreements for 12 million doses of the yet-unapproved Sinopharm vaccine and increased to a total of 20 million doses its contracts for the Coronavac dose made by China’s Sinovac. Deliveries of Sinovac have already started, with the full 20 million doses expected by July. The Sinopharm vaccines are to be delivered between March and June. The total of 32 million doses, plus at least 4 million doses of the CanSino shot, would dwarf the estimated 5 million vaccine doses Mexico has acquired so far from other sources. However, Ebrard’s office has repeatedly refused to answer questions about the efficacy of the Chinese shots. Sinopharm has claimed its vaccine was 79% effective based on interim data from clinical trials, but like other Chinese firms, it has not publicly released its late-stage clinical trial data. Experts in Hong Kong have assessed the efficacy of the Sinovac vaccine at about 51%. That shot has already been approved for use in Mexico. The CanSino vaccine has been approved in Mexico and reportedly has an efficacy rate of around 65.7%, A total of six vaccines have been approved for use in Mexico, which has received relatively small amounts of each. Mexico has administered only about 4.7 million doses of all vaccines, a tiny amount given the country’s population of 126 million. The government policy sets up the odd situation in which some Mexicans, mainly in urban areas, will receive the Pfizer vaccine, which has around 95% efficacy, while most will get one of the Chinese vaccines with a much lower effectiveness. Mexico has contracts for a total of about 34 million doses of the Pfizer shot, but deliveries have been slow, with less than a tenth of that amount delivered so far. Amid a dearth of public data on China’s vaccines, hesitations over their efficacy and safety are still pervasive in the countries depending on them. Inoculations with Chinese vaccines already have begun in more than 25 countries. None of China’s three vaccine candidates used globally have publicly released their late-stage clinical trial data. Mexico has suffered almost 190,100 confirmed deaths. However, Mexico does so little testing that government excess-death figures suggest the real toll was well above 220,000 at the start of January, when the government stopped releasing that data. Test-confirmed cases total over 2.1 million. Copyright 2021 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed without permission. Arrange the rack in the upper third of the oven and preheat to 450°. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Prepare an ice bath. Place the eggs in a medium pot; cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then cover and let stand off the heat for 2 1/2 minutes (you want the eggs to be jammy in the center). Drain and shake the pan to crack the shells, then transfer the eggs to the ice bath. Let the eggs cool, then peel. Set the eggs aside while you make the ramen. 3. In a medium pot, heat 2 cups vegetable broth with the dried mushrooms. Let simmer until softened, about 5 minutes. 4. Arrange the fresh mushrooms on the baking sheet. Spray with cooking spray; season with salt and pepper. Roast for 10 minutes. Using tongs, toss the mushrooms, then add the shallots to the baking sheet. Continue roasting until the mushrooms are crisp on the edges, 10 to 15 minutes more. 5. In a soup pot, heat the oil, two turns of the pan, over medium-high. Add the garlic, ginger, leeks, and chili-garlic paste, if using. Stir for 2 minutes, then stir in the wine. Cook, stirring often, until the wine is absorbed, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the remaining 2 cups of vegetable broth, chicken broth, and chard leaves. Bring to a boil over high, stirring occasionally. 6. Bring a large pot of water to a boil for the ramen. Add the ramen, cook for 5 minutes, and drain. 7. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the reconstituted porcini to a work surface and chop. Add them to the soup pot. Pour the mushroom broth into the soup pot, leaving the last few tablespoons in the pan to avoid any grit that may have settled. 8. In a medium bowl, whisk the shoyu, tahini, and miso. Whisk in about 1 cup of the broth from the soup pot, then pour the mixture back into the pot. 9. Divide the ramen among 4 bowls. Top each with carrots, chicken, if using, and shiso. Add the broth to the bowls, then top with the roasted mushrooms and shallots. Sprinkle each portion with sesame seeds and chives; drizzle with a little toasted sesame oil. Halve the eggs and divide among the bowls. Source
