  1. Chrissie Hynde, the founder of The Pretenders, has decided to grace the world with a late Christmas present and announces a Holiday Livestream, set for December 26. Chrissie and Co. will be performing classic renditions of the Pretenders, Bob Dylan and Ray Davies for this upcoming performance. This event comes after Hynde’s latest release, Standing in the Doorway: Chrissie Hynde Sings Bob Dylan, an album that was almost made via phone, where Walbourne would send Hynde his ideas and she would sing the vocals.A unique way to create a new album during the pandemic. The livestream will be filmed at the London Royal Opera House and will be available to be viewed until January 3. This intimate performance will have Hynde, fellow bandmates James Walbourne and Carwyn Ellis and Danny Williams of Black Grape. Tickets are available exclusively on Veeps, which is available for purchase here. Source
  2. Lorde has just released with a new music video for her song “Leader of a New Regime”. The Grammy award-winning artist previously released two bonus tracks, “Helen of Troy” and “Hold No Grudge”, as well as a music video for “Fallen Fruit” in November. The artist continues to treat her fans with another short visual. Pitchfork has shared the “Leader of a New Regime” video, and one can’t help but notice that it certainly the 1960s hippie and “flower-child” era–a culture known for spirituality and wellness– sound with its indie-folk vocals and soothing feel. However, the song is about more than the 1960s aesthetic. The music video depicts the New Zealand singer near rocks and calm waters. Two women on horses are slowly coming out of the waters onto the land filled with plants. Most of the shots of Lorde show her being still, looking out into the distance or touching the waters as if she is aware of nature’s true beauty. Although she appears to be at peace with nature, she begins the song with, “Wearing SPF 3000 for the ultraviolet rays”. Certainly, an SPF of 3000 is extremely high. This line suggests that there’s so much heat, perhaps due to climate change, that Lorde has to use a significantly higher level of SPF than the recommended use. Luckily for her, she then states that she “Made it to the island on the last outbound planes”, an island away from the destroyed society where she can live out her days in peace. As she calls out for a leader of a new regime, Lorde hopes that people will learn from their mistakes that contributed to the lasting effects of climate change. Source
  3. Imagine if the lead singer of your favorite rock band was actually a lead singer for another amazing rock bands. Well, according to Consequence.net, Sammy Hagar, the lead singer of the iconic rock band Van Halen, could have been Sammy Hagar of Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Pantera or Velvet Revolver. Known as “The Red Rocker”, Hagar states that he was asked to join Pantera, the well-known heavy metal band, by their manager. Unfortunately for Pantera’s manager, Hagar declined. He states, “And I said, ‘No, not after Van Halen. I’m not gonna join another band, especially covering for somebody else’, and this and that.” It seemed that Hagar had some practice declining offers to join legendary rock bands. Hagar also mentioned offers from other legendary rock bands that he interestingly turned down. Apparently, Hagar was also asked to consider joining the Aerosmith after Steven Tyler’s break from the group to appear as a judge on American Idol and create his solo record. According to Aerosmith’s guitarist, Joe Perry, the band was looking for another lead singer and Sam was a “really mellow guy, easy to get along with. And he definitely had the pipes.” Mötley Crüe and Velvet Revolver didn’t find much luck winning Hagar over either. It’s amazing to think that one man with so much success could have fronted some of the most amazing bands of all time. Still, Hagar still found success as a solo artist, and he is still known as a great influence to rock and roll. Source
  4. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without great holiday music. Mac DeMarco has released his version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”, which was originally recorded by Bing Crosby in 1943. Crosby’s low, smooth vocals are no match for DeMarco’s soft, sweet vocals–in a good way, of course. Gucci Mane Shares New Video To Honor Young Dolph Entitled “Long Live Dolph” Originally, Crosby’s version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” isn’t necessarily lighthearted and jolly, unlike other Christmas songs. The song is from the perspective of a World War II soldier who longs to be back at home with his loved ones for Christmas. As he promises his loved ones that he will return for Christmas, he hopes to have snow, mistletoe and presents by the tree. This isn’t DeMarco’s first time covering Christmas holiday music. At this point, it’s a part of a tradition. DeMarco’s version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” doesn’t stray away from Crosby’s theme or melancholic lyrics, especially considering the world is still fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequence has shared the music video below. Filmed at Santa’s workshop in Northpole, NY (according to DeMarco’s official YouTube account), an inflatable tree roams happily roams around. The tree dances around on a bridge, on top of rocks and in a park. The smile never escapes its face and there’s a sense of happiness when the tree finds its home among other Christmas trees. As the country prepares for another abnormal holiday season, one can hope that everyone tries to find a bit of happiness around their loved ones during this Christmas holiday, and DeMarco makes a sweet, almost comical, attempt at putting a smile on everyone’s faces. Catch DeMarco at the This Ain’t No Picnic music festival in August 2022. Tickets on sale now! Source
  5. World renowned singer, songwriter and guitarist Eric Clapton, has again made headlines, and this time, he used time and money and successfully sued a 55 year-old woman for copyright infringement after attempting to sell a bootleg copy of his work. After spending the entire pandemic as an anti-vaxxer and against any COVID-19 regulations, the 76 year-old guitarist had decided to take a seemingly innocent and harmless woman in Germany to court for a CD that was on sale for $11 on ebay. The woman, whose name is unknown, was sued for selling a CD of a recorded live performance of Clapton from the 80’s. The woman stated in court that she was unaware that her act was illegal and that her husband had bought the CD in a store in the 80’s. However, the judge on the case was very black and white and ruled in favor of Clapton, regardless of whether or not the woman was aware of the illegal act. The woman will pay a fine of almost $4000 to cover the legal costs of both parties. There is no further detail on the case or aftermath, however, if the woman continues to try and sell the CD, she will face even higher penalties, including jail time. Click here for more information. 6. Halsey released another live video from her latest album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. She released “Lilith”, a song about being a powerful and confident force, a message that sometimes gets lost in translation with no apologies in sight. The song was produced by Trent Renzor and Atticus of Nine Inch Nails, and it shows in the production as Halsey’s vocals glide up and down the track with ease, word for word through each verse, as she takes accountability on how her power can sometimes do more harm than good. Anika Announces Spring 2022 North American Tour Dates The video is simple but suitable, as a pregnant Halsey is in sexy lingerie in a bathtub with minimal lighting. The camera moves around as she turns and her eyes make heavy contact as she turns in the tub. The video, as simple as it looks, empowers Halsey and any other woman in the fact that they can feel sexy in their own body no matter what. 7. If you need a soulful update to your Christmas playlist, “#Toyland” may be what you’re looking for. Ray Angry and Katherine McMahon, collaborating as Public Domain, recently worked with artists such as Questlove and Black Thought on their funky version of the 1903 original. Along with the track comes a music video directed by Tatjana Kretveski, which features an avant-garde circus. Just as whimsical as the song and music video is its cover art, which was designed by Efram Wolff, the same artist who designed Stevie Wonder’s Innervisions cover and several 1970s Motown records. Watch the video for “#Toyland” below. The Public Domain project discusses and critiques the methods in which narratives are sold by creating their own versions of century-old songs, such as their recent “#AlcoholicBlues.” Album Review: Fruit Juice – Mirke vs The Dreamy LLC “Each Public Domain release navigates themes of intellectual property as a commodity, appropriation, identity, and the illusion of newness,” reads a press release. “Throughout the project Angry & McMahon expand upon expired copywritten material to sculpt a contemporary narrative about the cyclical nature of history while exploring generational shifts and the notion of ownership.” Last year, Ray Angry worked with Imani Coppola to raise awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement in their song “WTML (Don’t Shoot).” This video, in conjunction with the current project, reveals how the artist consistently shares an important message with his work. 8. Adult Swim Singles just closed out their 2021 collection with its 36th entry, “This Man’s Gift” by Nothing and Midwife. The haunting track creeps toward you and invites you in, with its distorted psychedelic effects bringing a fit end to a chaotic year. Last week, Adult Swim shared the 35th installment to this year’s collection, Chromeo’s electrofunk “Real Breezy,” which was applauded for its “groovy bass, dancing synths and powerful bass.” Each track helps to build anticipation for artists’ tour and recent work — Nothing, for example, is finishing a tour this month with shows in Nashville, Louisville and Columbus. Album Review: Fruit Juice – Mirke vs The Dreamy LLC Earlier this year, the band worked with Two Minutes to Late Night on a cover of Ink & Dagger’s “Road to Hell” that celebrated the whimsical darkness of the Halloween season. They also shared videos for “La La Means I Love You” and “Amber Gambler,” both from their recent album The Great Dismal B-Sides. Next year, Nothing is set to perform at the Roadburn music festival alongside artists such as Ulver, Helms Alee, Alcest, James Kent and Johannes Persson. During this festival, the band will collaborate with artists in residence Full of Hell in a show titled “Full of Nothing.” The festival will be held from April 21-24 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. 9. At the end of October, Jónsi of Sigur Rós released a surprise album, Obsidian, alongside a virtual art installation at the Tonya Bonakdar Gallery in New York. Now, a fully mixed and mastered version of the album is available on Apple, Amazon and Tidal music. Concert Review: Greensky Bluegrass Live at the Fonda The album was inspired by the recent eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Iceland, which had been dormant for over 800 years. Jónsi was unable to travel to the country to experience the once-in-a-lifetime event but he encapsulated the force with his art. “Obsidian the album, likewise, centers on the Icelandic natural wonder,” reads a press release. “Recorded and produced in tandem with the works on view, the parallel formats inform one another and interweave through their embodiment of volcanic energies. Over the course of 10 tracks, each with evocative titles referencing sights, textures, and aromas of the ashen terrain, Jónsi takes his listeners through narrative arcs between erupting flares.” The album follows his 2019 Shiver, which was much more influenced by pop than the current piece. It also comes after the band’s 2020 album Odin’s Raven Magic, an orchestral collaboration between several Icelandic artists. This talent earned them a spot on the soundtrack for Life Is Strange: True Colors game. Obsidian Tracklist 1. Vikur 2. Ambrox 3. Kvika 4. Pyralone 5. Obsidian 6. Cypriol 7. Eyja 8. Öskufall 9. 11. @Madalin The problem you had in your code is: - You had an unknown thing named unknown_6969 above your while loop. - The code you wrote was untidy and I arranged it. - The SCM doesn't work with else if or (elif) like others program language, I don't really understand SCM but it is what it is, so I decided to delete those "else" and replace them all with "end". - You have been using a lot of "end" for no reason in your while loop function. - I have deleted SAMP.IsCommandTyped(20@) from your punch of commands which you never used the 20@ variable on it. There is my debugged code (Btw, I did not test the code at all, and I just re-corrected and replaced some stuff on it. and also arranged) If you still had problem in some minor things, let me know, maybe i can do something. 13. @Gabihard First of all please accept my apologies that I am speaking English in the Romanian section but I actually decided to give you some advice: - If you are using Windows 10, Windows 10 has a lot of problems with games/applications, you won't just face SA: MP problem, be sure in that. I highly recommend changing your Windows 10 version. In personal experience I've faced system problems too buggy system, often crashes. 1. Try installing junk cleaner (Tuneup Untiles 2014) 2. Remove all GTA: SA files from your computer (Local, root, Documents, Registry) 3. Reinstall SA: MP 4. Move GTA: SA root to a new directory. 5. Try to change compatibility settings of both gta_sa.exe and samp.exe to Windows ME, and run them both as administrators. 6. Microsoft Visual and DirectX 9 7. Get a Driver booster to fresh install your drivers and update them By the way, if your Windows 10 crashes due to a crashed gta_sa.exe, do this: Press Win+R. Type "cmd" without the quotes and press ENTER. Type "taskkill /IM gta_sa.exe /F" without the quotes and press ENTER. gta_sa will be forced to shut down (just like killing the process in the task manager). - If you are using the mod pack, I would say that you have to try to test your game in the default version to see you still have the same problem or not, if you still have it, that is completely related to your whole system and you have to care about it, like reinstalling the windows smth like that... - and definitely, SAMP-Addon it's my best recommendation which is absolutely awesome for win10 members.
  14. Kat Von D is going on tour with Prayers. The tattoo artist, business-woman and singer had an announcement made this morning on Instagram: Alice Cooper Announces Spring 2022 Tour Dates Featuring Ace Frehley And Buckcherry The multi-city tour is set to start in Pittsburgh and end in Helsinki, Finland. The dates cover three months and two continents, with the singer being joined by her husband’s band, Prayers. Von D’s most recent performance was at the Belasco in Los Angeles in October, where we gave a sterling review. Kat Von D’s music career may come as a surprise to many, but according to her Spotify account, the multi-talented artist was a musician first. “Long before the history-making tattoos, ubiquitous television shows, best-selling books, and influential beauty empire, Kat Von D sat down at a piano for nearly two hours a day and played. In essence, music became her first creative language and most trusted outlet. Classical training and a deep appreciation for music of all genres essentially underscored her life.” All tour locations TBA. Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 10. 15. Pop-punk band A Place to Bury Strangers released a new song with an accompanying video, “Hold On Tight”. This comes weeks after the band announced a new album in the works, scheduled to release February 2022. Their single, “Let’s See Each Other”, was dropped in mid-November. The band also announced a winter tour in early 2022 to commemorate the album release. The new music video, released yesterday, features the joys and the pains of a relationship, with lead singer Oliver Ackerman dead-panning the camera in the midst of the chaos. The vintage hues, coupled with simple, industrial settings, paired well with the increasing high-energy melodies of the song. At the video’s zenith, in the midst of the couple’s quarrel, the band emerges from the shadows to join in the chaos. In a statement, the band describes the song as a reflection. “When the getting’s good, I hold on tight. Sometimes I forget to enjoy where I am and the people around me. It is critical to be thankful and enjoy existence and have fun. Having a bad night? Reflect and kick yourself into gear.” A Place To Bury Stranger have been delighting and astonishing audiences for close to two decades, combining post-punk, noise-rock, shoegaze, psychedelia, and avant-garde music in startling and unexpected ways. See Through You is an explosive journey which explores the listener’s limits of mind-bending madness while simultaneously offering the catchiest batch of songs in the band’s discography. Source
  16. As a follow-up to her June album Planet (i), Squirrel Flower (also known as Ella Williams), is set to release an EP titled Planet on Jan. 28. In anticipation of the EP, the artist recently shared two of its tracks — an original, “ruby at dawn,” and a cover of Bjork’s “unravel.” The former is both nostalgic and sorrowful, feeling as if it’s longing for an irretrievable past. Her cover of “unravel” is similarly soothing, and even more powerful when embracing the artist’s echoing voice. “I’ve always felt that the pieces and process and secrets behind a finished record are the most important parts,” the artist said in Consequence. “Most of these songs showcase my own production and exact vision, my first time in a long time releasing music that I’ve produced alone. Releasing this EP is an exercise in self trust and experimentation.” Phoebe Bridgers and Olivia Rodrigo Connect On Instagram Live After Austin City Limits The prequel to this album contained “Flames and Flat Tires,” which was equally as somber as these latest pieces. Williams wrote this over quarantine, but prior to lockdown, she released her album I Was Born Swimming, in which “Williams does a wonderful job of forcing her audience to empathize with whatever emotion the song projects. With a runtime of only 35 minutes, the album is an easy listen that is sure to remind one of the feverish heat of summer Source
  17. Every artist tries to bring something new to every city in which they perform, but some change the show entirely. This is the case for Icelandic art-pop artist Bjork, who recently announced a series of tour dates, some orchestral and some her theatrical Cornucopia shows. Her orchestral shows in the U.S. are both in Miami’s Arsht Center, on Feb. 13 and 16. Travis Scott Initiates Efforts To Dismiss Astroworld Lawsuits According to Brooklyn Vegan, the experimental artist has already played four orchestral shows in Reykjavík. Each of the upcoming orchestral shows will be conducted by Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason and will feature acoustic orchestral arrangements of Bjork’s work, each arranged by the artist herself. She will continue to perform these instrumental shows internationally, with shows in Moscow, Helsinki, Berlin and the UK in June. All of the performances will follow her five Cornucopia shows, which will be in LA and San Francisco this winter. Earlier this year, Bjork teased her tenth studio album with a brief description of what the piece sounds like: “a man who was headbanging, then sat down again and had another glass of red wine, and everyone is home by ten o’clock, done with the dancing and everything.” This album will follow her 2017 piece Utopia and may accompany an exhibition in May. 18. As the culture changes, so does the language, often resulting in bands changing their name after their original name is more heavily associated with something negative — hence, The Dixie Chicks becoming The Chicks and Lady Antebellum changing their name to Lady A. Omicron, however, refuses to change their name despite the title now being tied to a variant of COVID. Drake Withdrawals 2022 Grammy Nomination For Best Rap Album And Best Rap Performance According to Consequence, as the new variant becomes more prevalent across the globe, VICE asked the band if they had any plans to adjust their name. “Nobody could predict that this would happen and we hope that people will see that,” the band said to VICE. “[Are] we planning to change our name? Hell no. We will not let a virus determine the way our concept should be perceived.” The group did admit that they were worried about the negative connotation of the name but felt hopeful about the potential exposure they may receive. Omicron’s guitarist Philippe chose the name from the interstellar Omicron Cygni constellation, but audiences are now more likely to associate it with the virus. “Having the same name as the new coronavirus variant feels like an extra responsibility we have to carry,” said the band. “We are still going to tread carefully here because we do not want the world to think that we are thriving on other people’s suffering.” Source
  19. This Friday, Dec. 10, Nick Murphy (also known as Chet Faker) is releasing his newest album Take In The Roses via Detail Records and BMG. The LP is his first with a band made up of Nick Kinsey, Jake Falby, Tim Lappin and Tim Mislock, allowing the piece to be credited to Nick Murphy & The Program. In anticipation of the album, the artist shared a 30-second teaser that is edited to appear as if it was recorded on a film camera, showing scenes of rural landscapes with a somber acoustic track behind it. Drake Withdrawals 2022 Grammy Nomination For Best Rap Album And Best Rap Performance “This record is important for a lot of reasons,” says Murphy in a press release. “But if I had to choose one, it’s that it was fun to make.” This isn’t the first time the Australian singer has waited to announce his album — last year, he surprised fans with his album Music For Silence, which audiences didn’t know about until the day it was released. The surprise, however, led to the album’s quick success, as it was streamed over 250,000 times in less than 24 hours. Following this impromptu album release, the artist relaunched the name Chet Faker with the song “Low,” which “features a laid-back beat and a smooth funkiness that Murphy’s productions have become known for.” This spring, the musician is touring North America and Europe — the shows begin on March 7 in California and end in Germany on May 12. Throughout the tour, Murphy will be visiting cities such as Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Dublin, Barcelona and more. Dates are listed below.
